Airport Accessibility Information

At the Iqaluit International Airport, we aim to provide an inclusive and accessible airport environment. Nunavut Airport Services Ltd. is subject to the Canadian Transportation Agency’s Accessible Transportation for Persons with Disabilities Regulations and the provisions of these regulations that apply to it. Under the act, our obligations are to the following sections:

Curbside Assistance

Curbside Assistance

A representative will be dispatched within five minutes to meet you at the curb and help you to the airline check-in counter. Assistance from the Arrivals Baggage pickup area to the curbside pick-up area can also be requested through the phone number or email provided above. This service includes assisting passengers with their wheelchair or mobility device and their baggage as well as assistance by guiding. Wheelchairs are provided by the Iqaluit Airport for use within the terminal for your convenience.

Mobility Aids

Wheelchairs are provided by Iqaluit Airport for use within the terminal for your convenience. Please note there is no electric cart service available. The Airport is wheelchair accessible and has ramps at all boarding gates as well as a portable aircraft ramp for embarking/disembarking the aircraft.

The Airport also provides designated priority seating for persons with disabilities at all boarding gates. Accessible washrooms are also available throughout the terminal.

Service Animals

Certified service animals can accompany you at the Iqaluit International Airport, whether you're travelling or visiting other passengers.  

There are 2 Animal Relief Areas to accommodate service animals moving through the airport environment including:

Pre-Security

Outside the airport located near the arrivals entrance next to the designated smoking area. 

Post-Security

After you have passed through security screening a service animal relief zone is located at the public washrooms by Gate 3.
